Adjust the cage to your camera, insert the camera, attach the monitor to the cage, run the cable to the camera and you're ready to go! With the help of the monitor, you can see clearly whether you have really focused, and you can set up the frame the way you want it. The high contrast of 900:1 and a removable sun visor make it easy to set up the camera perfectly, whether by hand or on a tripod, even in bright sunshine. You can also connect an external microphone to the cage, or the receiver of your wireless microphone, or other accessories that you need when shooting on the camera. The Magic Arm 18 allows you to position the desired accessories to suit your needs. The anti-twist protection for the articulated arm prevents the articulated arm from sagging or coming loose. Matched perfectly
Thanks to the flexibility of the Aptaris Universal XL MkII Cage, it fits almost all common camera models. With various 1/4 inch and some 3/8 inch threaded bores it is ready to carry a lot of accessories in all imaginable configurations. The handle can be tared out thanks to a small rail and makes it possible to guide the camera like a professional. But the cage can also be used on tripods, thanks to the adapter plate in the Manfrotto PL 501 standard, it is compatible with their tripod heads. Of course, any other interchangeable plate can be mounted under the cage. The accessories on the cage, be it a microphone, an LED light or a monitor, make filming easier. Image detail and sharpness can be adjusted much faster and easier with the help of a monitor than, for example, via the monitor integrated in the camera. Our Walimex pro 4.5" Camera Assist Monitor 4K IPS, which can be operated via power supply unit or via battery, for example offers Focus Peaking. This function marks everything in the picture which is in focus. Thus, one glance at the monitor is enough to see if the focus is set correctly. Thanks to the attachment with the Walimex pro Magic Arm 18, the monitor can be positioned freely. This small support miracle with two 1/4 inch thread adapter and hot shoe adapter screws carries any accessories up to two kilograms in any desired angle. With only one locking screw, both joints are locked. The attached Magic Arm holds the monitor on the cage wherever you need it.

Low weight and top quality
Our Aptaris system, as well as many other Aptaris accessories, are made in Germany from strong, lightweight aviation grade aluminium. This alloy is of very low weight, but offers a strength similar to steel. So we could limit the weight of the cage to 406 grams. The Magic Arm is made of aluminum and with only 195 grams its weight is barely noticed. Together with the only 170 grams of the monitor, this results in a small additional weight, which professional photography should be worth.
