Stable and robust
The Mantona Basic Fortis 161S camera tripod is the right tripod for photographers who are looking for a well-made, extremely robust, stable and not too light tripod with many practical features. There are no plastic components on this tripod - everything is made of extremely solid aluminium and seemingly built to last. This construction gives the Mantona Basic Fortis 161S tripod its special stability and a durability that is designed not for years, but for decades - even with heavy loads!

Maximum working height 161 cm without tripod head
The Mantona Fortis 161S is infinitely adjustable in height from 35 to 161 cm. With an additionally mounted tripod head (approx. 10 cm height), you thus generally obtain a maximum height of 171 cm. All common ball heads or tilters can be quickly and easily attached to the 1/4 inch thread of the centre column. If required, you can of course also attach tripod heads with a 3/8 inch connection using a 1/4 to 3/8 inch thread adapter. Here you have the free choice and can mount a ball head, video head or gimbal according to your wishes.

Extremely robust and stable partner
If you are looking for an extremely solid and stable tripod with proven durability, you will find it in the Mantona Basic Fortis 161S. All important components such as the tripod shoulder, centre column, locks and tripod legs are very solidly dimensioned and made of a robust and corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy. This gives the Mantona Basic Fortis 161S its special stability and excellent vibration behaviour. Nothing will shake this tripod, even in wind and weather; it always stands firm like a rock in the surf.

Suitable weight for maximum stability
When designing photo tripods, it is always a matter of deciding: stability and good swing behaviour versus compactness and low weight. In the design of the Fortis 161S, we have clearly opted for stability as the main focus. The Fortis 161S thus achieves a realistic and field-tested maximum load of 10 kg. The tripod weighs a good 3 kg (3,150 g with strap, 3,020 g without strap) and is therefore not exactly a lightweight. But it is precisely this weight and the massive dimensions of the relevant components of this tripod that ensure its particularly high stability in all situations.

For studio or outdoor use
This tripod can be used in the studio or outdoors. On level ground, the self-levelling, large tripod feet ensure a firm and straight stand. The Fortis 161S is also suitable for tough outdoor use thanks to its long, extendable spikes that provide a secure stand even on deep, slippery ground.

Ideal for a wide range of applications
The Mantona Basic Fortis 161S reliably supports even heavy equipment due to its high load capacity. No matter whether video cameras, heavy DSLR reflex cameras (also with battery handle) or lighter DSLM system cameras - with an appropriate tripod head, this tripod holds your video and photo equipment shake-free and very reliably. This tripod is also ideal for large telephoto lenses, spotting scopes or binoculars, (electric) panorama heads and much more. For timelapse, astro and all kinds of long exposures, the particularly high stability and the excellent oscillation behaviour ensure first-class results.

Macro and reverse function
The wide-angle tripod legs allow the working height to be reduced to up to 35 cm. The centre column can be removed and reversed for use in the reverse function. As a special feature, there is an additional 3/8 inch threaded connection on the underside of the centre column. Here you can attach further accessories or mount your camera directly in seconds and use it in the reverse position for macro photography.

High load capacity due to voluminous tripod legs and large standing surface
In addition to the solid tripod shoulder, the three aluminium tripod legs with stand tube diameters of 30, 26 and 22 mm ensure high stability and torsional rigidity. The tripod legs can be adjusted to three angles. Due to the maximum footprint of 140 cm in diameter, the tripod stands rock solid even in windy conditions and with vibrations.

Nearly indestructible and very practical locks
The 3 tripod legs can be adjusted in height safely and in a flash with twist-lock quick-release fasteners made entirely of aluminium. Thanks to their special design, these locks can be adjusted very precisely and locked securely with just a quarter turn of the lever. With the enclosed Allen key, the locking clamps of the tripod legs can be adjusted and fine-tuned at any time. In this way, you can adjust the Fortis 161S according to your individual wishes (rather tight or a little more play) and have excellent functionality even after years of use.

Carrying strap directly on the tripod
Although the Fortis 161S is no featherweight at just over 3 kg, it is nevertheless very easy to transport. The tripod is equipped with a large shoulder strap as standard. This shoulder strap is attached to the tripod shoulder on one side via a 3/8 inch connection and the tripod legs can be hooked into a loop on the other end. Extremely practical for transporting the tripod without the supplied bag.

Extra-large bag included
A transport and storage bag, already included as standard, completes the equipment of this tripod. The tripod bag is approx. 20 cm longer than the tripod without head. This makes it possible to use this bag even after mounting a large ball head or tilt head. Accessories such as quick-release plates, adapters, etc. can be stored safely and conveniently in the large outer pocket.
