The Samyang AF 12mm F2.0 E is the perfect wide-angle lens for astrophotography on APS-C sensors! The wide 99.1° angle of view allows you to capture entire constellations and large parts of the Milky Way. The fast open aperture of F2.0 allows the lens to be used even in difficult lighting conditions, which is elementary for astrophotography.

Unique: Weather Sealing for all elements
This lens is the only one of this focal length for APS-C cameras that is equipped with weather protection. The so-called Samyang Weather Sealing allows you to capture great motifs even in adverse conditions. The rubber lips in the lens and around the mount prevent dust and splash water from entering, so you can work in snowfall and drizzle or in dusty environments without any problems.

Weighing just 213 g, measuring just 59.2 mm in length and only 70 mm in diameter, the Samyang AF 12mm F2.0 E is the perfect companion for exploring. It is 27 % lighter and 27 % shorter than comparable lenses, making it the lightest, most compact lens in its class. The filter thread has a diameter of 62 mm. The new sophisticated design promises a pleasant feel and facilitates operation in the field.

Fast and quiet autofocus
The autofocus in this lens is driven by a linear stepper motor (LSTM) that works quickly and quietly at the same time, delivering precise results. This means you are equipped for snapshots that need an accurate focus point, especially at open aperture. Video recordings with continuous focus tracking are therefore effortless and succeed without annoying noises from the focus drive.

Minimum focus distance, extreme quality
The closest focusing distance of this lens is only 19 cm, which allows you to shoot and focus on close objects even in tight situations. The lens comprises 12 elements arranged in 10 groups, each lens multi-coated with Samyang's proprietary Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). Special lenses include 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP), 1 aspherical lens (ASP) and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass lenses in the optical path. Thanks to the highest quality glass, images are always crisp from the centre to the edge. The aperture has 7 blades, which allows for 14-beam sun stars with brilliant highlights.
