Product information "Front Objective Protection Shield for Vortex Red Dot Crossfire 2"

This protective lens is custom made for the Vortex Crossfire 2 Red Dot (CF-RD2) and protects the objective lens of your red dot from scratches and impacts. The lens is made of acrylic and will not affect the light output or accuracy of your red dot rifle scope.

The housing is made of 3D printed TPU - thermoplastic polyurethane - with a hardness of 98a and an operating temperature of up to 138 °C. This material consists of a combination of hard plastic and silicone material, making it fairly elastic, similar to rubber. On the inside, the accessory features a thickening that easily fits into the recess of the Crossfire 2. Thus, the accessory can be attached seamlessly and you will not lose the protective lens during use. The whole items weighs only 4 grams.

Impact test

The acrylic lens is strong enough to withstand multiple impacts from airsoft balls at a speed of about 90 meters per second (approx. 1 Joule). This test involved 0.20 gram heavy BB-type airsoft balls. In practice, this means that the lens will protect against most impacts during airsoft/paintball.

This accessory is crucial in any situation where the lens of your Vortex Crossfire 2 red dot can be damaged. Think for example of airsoft balls that can land on the lens. But also in any other situation where you want to provide extra protection for the lens, this is a valuable addition.

Please note: this lens protects the lens against impacts based on official test results. Neither we, nor Vortex, are liable for any damage that unexpectedly does occur to (the objective lens of) your red dot. This protective shield is not produced nor supplied by Vortex but is manufactured externally.
