The NVG-40 NL1 from the American AGM Global Vision is a night vision binocular/goggles from the absolute top segment of the market. The night vision viewer is designed to MIL-spec characteristics and is the solution for tactical applications, professional users, airsofters and any other demanding enthusiast. The device is only 11.5 cm long, weighs less than 645 grams and gives you the ability to adjust the interpupillary distance. The AGM NVG-40 NL1 is the replacement for the AGM NVG-40 and ideal for use as night vision goggles.
Quality of the IIT and optics
The night vision binocular features two Gen2+ PHOTONIS Commercial image intensifier tubes in Green Phosphor (P43). These have a Figure of Merit or FOM of 1400-1800 and a resolution of 51-64 lp/mm. The viewer has clean tubes, so there are no green 'spots' visible in the image. So you can see the environment razor sharp, in the familiar night vision green color. The NVG40 NL1 is also available in White Phosphor.
The scope features an optical 1x magnification, a 26mm objective lens and focuses already from 25cm. With a large field of view of 40 degrees you can see a lot of the environment at a glance and keep moving targets in FOV easily. Both lenses are fully multi-coated to protect against scratches and dirt.
External features
The device features a built-in infrared illuminator to allow you to see even when there is no light at all. This can be useful, for example, when you are in a dark room without windows and you want to be able to read texts. You can set the IR Illuminator in terms of power in two levels. On the top of the body is an NVG interface, which allows you to connect the AGM NVG-40 NL1 to a helmet or goggle kit for hands-free use. Power is provided by the included CR123 battery (additional batteries can be found in the optional accessories). With one battery, you can use the scope for up to 20 hours.
Advantages of a binocular
Because a night vision binocular features two IITs, it captures twice as much light as a monocular or bi-ocular. This results in a much higher light output. This not only gives you a very bright image, but you can also use the scope in situations where there is hardly any light at all. A binocular also has the advantage of being comfortable for long-term, continuous use. This is because you do not have to keep squeezing one eye shut, as is the case with a monocular.
Application AGM NVG-40 NL1
The AGM NVG-40 NL1 is all you need when you are looking for the best that night vision has to offer. This makes it suitable for professionals and tactical applications. But also for use during hunting, security or for the demanding private user, this is an excellent choice.
This night vision optics is equipped with an image intensifier tube, so you cannot use the device during the day. The device will automatically shut down when too much light is present.
